Across the United States, the best time for a homeowner to list their home is on a Saturday in the first half of May. This allows families with children still in school to arrange the move to take place during the summer months so the childrens’ education is not interrupted. Of course, the best time to list a home varies from state to state.
For example, the best time for a home to be listed in the Philadelphia area is on a Friday between May 1st and May 15th. However, in the New York City metropolitan area, the best time for a homeowner to put their house on the market is on a Saturday between April 16th and 30th. That being said, May 1st through 15th is largely the most beneficial time to list a home.
